Selection Procedure

  • All eligible candidates for the Course of Bachelor of Visual Art will be required to sit for a compulsory admission test held by the College Authority. Candidates are expected to bring their own art materials like – Pencils, Paint Box, Brushes, Erasers, Colors etc. for the test. Candidates are expected to have considerable technical and general knowledge in the Field of Art theoretically, especially in reference to the present art scenario. The mode of Admission test conducted consists of a practical test (to assess practical proficiency and familiarity) ; portfolio checking during the Viva-voce Test (for the portfolio students are required to bring maximum 10 own representative works of Art i.e. painting, drawing, sculpture, crafts etc/ sketchbook/ drawing book) ; viva-voce test (basic understanding and knowledge on Fine Arts/ Visual Arts/ Culture/ Heritage). Selection will be made by a committee strictly in accordance to merit and on the basis of the marks stipulated as follows: 50 marks for Practical Entrance Test , 40 marks for Personal Interview (viva-voce) , 10 marks for marks secured in the qualifying examination.

    On the basis of the total marks secured in the above (i.e. 50+40+10), the Merit List of the selected candidates will be prepared (including those for reserved and unreserved seats) for admission into the BVA 1st Semester. The list of candidates selected for admission will be displayed at the college Notice Board on the stipulated date in accordance to the convenience of the authorities. Applicants are advised to make necessary inquiries from the College Office.

    The selected candidates are to take admission on the stipulated day(s)/ date(s) notified by the college authority, failing which the selection will be treated cancelled and such seat(s) will be filled up from the Waiting List.

    After the admission, students are to join the class on the opening day of the New Session as fixed and notified by college authority. No extension is normally granted in this matter. If the attendance of a student is recorded below 75% on first 20 days, his admission/ seat will be treated terminated and cancelled and any such seat(s) will be treated vacant and out of this situation, such seat(s) may be filled up from among the candidate(s) of Waiting List.
